As above, but just how accurate are they. I have a small CRT combo meter and if what its telling me is true im very pleased with my 6900n its telling me a tad under 75w on FM and a tad over 40w AM.
The user.s manual isn't much help I think it only list output for the low power model

I doubt it's doing 75watts more like 40.
is the meter insulated try a different location I can get my walky-talky power to go up or down just by placing it near computer or steel bench

You should be testing on a dummy load as well for the most accurate reading. A foot or two of patch lead should be just fine.

I agree here, I have a few meters that are very wrong on the antenna but read more of less correct when on a dummy load.
While of course a meter that reads incorrect when on an antenna is no use at all in reality it does proove it's good to test on a dummy load before you start playing with radios etc...
