| Hi, I am at present doing an online foundation course, As I am on a limited budget, I honestly don’t know which way to go! I have been listening on my little Baofeng uv-5R, Not sure if ham radios for me! Heard some good conversation on PMR, used to enjoy CB, But two years ago ,not a lot going on down here. Any advice would be great fully received | |

| There is a lot more on the Ham bands, your UV-5R only gives you access to a very small piece. Get your foundation license and get yourself on HF. | |

| If your only experience is a dual band handheld you'd be very disappointed with the hobby.
Get on www.websdr.org, listen to some of the SDR radios on there which are covering the amateur bands and see what is on HF. | |
