Hi, new member here.
I'm Gerben and back from the 80's and 90's.
Found my old mobile antenna en power supply while cleaning up the house during lockdown.
My old President Grand and Sigma 2 has been sold, so took up and 40 channel 4w CB from the internet and put it in my car.
Made some contacts in the area, but heard a lot of  English, French, Italians, Spaniards, Austrians and so it started to itch again.
So, I'm back with a President Lincoln 1 and a Gain-Master. But my antenna is still standing at grondlevel.
My Wive and children are not so happy about this: that ugly thing in the garden, but what the hek, I'm on air now.
Searching for the best location for my Antenna. Took it op on the first floor on the flat roof outside. Lot of QRM: constant of S7 to S9.
In the back yard at grondlevel the QRM is around S3 and it's usable, but it most go up. Working in progress.
Hope to make some contact with you guys

Hello Gerben, welcome to the group I have to say I have had very similar experiences with QRM up over s9 most of the time until I tracked down the offending appliances in my home and put ferrite rings on them to filter the interference down otherwise the radio would have been pretty much unusable especially for weaker stations and DX.

I see some of the guys are using RF chokes also known as the ugly value and this is next on my list to reduce QRM which is down to a much more usable s3-s5 when the offering appliances are on in the house.

The QRM at groundlevel in the garden is ok right now.
I wonder how the QRM is when the antenna is 5 meters higher.
we'll see next week
