Do i need it lol. Looked all over to find it's value but none to be found. Not sure on mod's but the ABC band selector is a 6 position one and "fine-coarse" shifts it 10kc so you get the alphas and zeros. The power is turned down as it ran a linear but easy to turn back up.(5w AM/FM 15W SSB)??.

Just found the fault with it there had to be one lol. Squelch not working wouldn't bother me as rarely use it lol. Might give it a go on the bay in a few weeks with a buy-now best offer and put a silly price like the rest do.

I haven't really heard anything all over the Christmas season TBH and not much even before concerning that the majority of the UK is in lockdown and everyone thought it would revive radio well it hasn't in fact I think it's worse than before the Covid.

I was hoping to get out with the radio for a few days this week, but it is inaccessible because of snow and ice. Typical of my luck, it is only the second week I have had off all year and I cannot do anything.

I hate snow ,if we get it then we all would be in a total lockdown cos the whole country grinds to a halt if we see a bit of sleet

That's a big shame. It's been reasonably active over here locally. Every day there are folks on calling CQ on CH01 (the calling channel here, not CH19). Mondays, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Sunday mornings there are rounds within abut 50km of me that I can hear more or less. And often a round will pop up starting with a couple of guys and then ending with 4 or 5 lasting for sometimes an hour, easily half an hour. Today I reached 110km just on the CB with a guy west of me, which is not bad I didn't think? Go to http://kiwisdr.com/public/ and search for 'hasenberg' - if you can get in when not full up (max 4 each) have a listen...

Same kind of action here in Finland, local stations are active, and like you had some good long distance range on cb-Usb band 4 to 12 watts, truckers are active on am in my area .

EU01 = FM 26.965MHz that's the calling channel for the German part of Switzerland. I think the French part uses CH04 (FM 27.005) but you won't hear them from Zurich, so maybe try a Lausanne kiwiSDR instead.
If you see the waterfall on the kiwi you'll see most used are CH03, 05, 06 even 09 and 10 for QSOs. On CH29 and CH34 are gateways, with 29 the most active.
AM is not so often used for calling, but sometimes you get USB/LSB going on. Today at 19h00 CET (18h00 UK time) there should be a round on EU FM16USB and another on EU FM18 - although due to new year's eve they might be short or not happening.
If you pop on there in the next 15 minutes, I'll sit in the chatbox here and maybe you can hear me over the kiwi if we coordinate. Let's see?
