I think it's more down to electrical devices close by. This subject has been covered many times before. Phone chargers cctv solar panels the list goes on. A good start would be a car battery to run your radio and turn the mains off. That would say if it's your gadgets or your next door if you get what i meen.

Have you got an earth on it. I use a 4ft earth rod in the ground almost all the way and everything is earthed to it. Don't know if that makes it better but with it and 12v LED lighting in the shack i have around .5 to 1 S point on most bands.

It can be hard to trace but i am sure someone will come along with more ideas. Never had the imax but plenty on here have them so fingers crossed for a better answer.

No, in fact it may even make it worse.
One of the biggest sources of noise is common mode RFI caused by a poor RF ground meaning your coax forms part of the antenna as the antenna system tries to compensate.

A ground rod does nothing as a RF ground. The wire to it is doing more than the ground rod is.

Was just saying what i did and i got rid of most of the noise.
