Hi. My name is Stephen. I had cbs fm/am over thirty years ago and have tried cbs again fm/am not to many people on. Going to get a new ssb radio. Does anyone recommend a good radio. I would also like a call sign. I live in Larne Northern Ireland. Thanks Stephen.

Hello and welcome, Stephen.
Gary will be along to issue you with a call-sign.
The Superstar 9900 is a good, modern multimode radio for dxing on cb. I have worked Larne a few times over the years on ground-wave on ssb from my dx location in Derbyshire. Really good take off, out to the west.

Thanks for the reply. I seen Fred in the shed on u tube talking about the superstar radio's they seem to be a good radio. I looked at them on knights cb website. I see they give you the option to choose 10 meter 11 meter cb and 12 meter would you recommend all three or just the 11 meter cb. Thanks Stephen.

No worries, Stephen. If the radio can be opened up for all three bands, I would go for that. Although you can only transmit on the cb band, it would be interesting to listen in to the 12 and 10m ham bands. Plus if you go for your license in the future, you will be able to use them.
