| I dont know what the excat effect brexit will have on the brand CRT being bought after Brexit. I am sure the price is surely to rise what with import taxes etc. I started to buy a couple of radios from a couple of EU countries at a nice price not new but used with a low postage like £15.00 posted to Northern Ireland and at £15.00 is ok as I have been hit for more postage cost from UK mainland.
Whats your thoughts?

| Northern Ireland will effectively remain in the Customs Union, so if you buy directly from the EU, you shouldn't see a difference in the tax regime.
At present a lot of regulation relevant to the radio and telecomms sector is effectively written by the EU. The Withdrawal Act passed last year automatically makes all that stuff continuing UK law after Brexit, and in the short term there is not likely to be much divergence in regulation. The UK remains a member of CEPT after Brexit, because it isn't an EU body.
We won't know for sure until the negotiations on trade happen after Brexit quite what the tariff and tax regime is going to be in the longer term - what some people don't realise yet is that most of the negotiations happen *after* we've left the EU, not before.

I really hope NI isn't left out of the union, and with this deal it will be cut off from the Uk as far as trade is concerned and still be dictated to by Brussels . Lets face it this was the deal Teresa may had over 2 years ago with the border down the sea and that was strongly rejected as it left NI in the EU. The only way now is to leave on WTO tariffs and then negotiate our trade deals with the EU on our terms , remembering they need us and a deal with us more than we need them, as their economy is falling down in Germany and France and the rest of them are pretty much bankrupt or being held up by the 7 EU countries that actually pay into the EU which includes us.
On a note about the thread, Postage may be like china where you pay import duty unless the package is labelled as " A gift " where the import duty is not levied

| I import from the US and radio gear is usually 0% rated for import duty and I can't see that changing. | |
