Thanks lol! I thought you were my wife for a minute cheers , I will be monitoring it, it is quite rigid ( pardon the pun ) and i am on the top of a hill as well so we shall see. It is at a experimental height just to see how it holds up I will see how that goes, and then instead of a 3mtr ally pole my intension is use a 8mtr ally pole with another bracket approximately a metre below the bottom bracket, but i have to say its not as exposed as yours looks, and it certainly looks like that has swung around a little Very Happy

The photograph of the Sigma 4 brings back memories, I think mine was peaking at around 80ft but it could be seen for miles around.
The last outdoor antenna I had was the Antron 99 with ground plane kit mounted on the chimney with a lashing kit and it didn't stand out too much at all I am surprised to say, not only that it stayed up for years with one of the sections eventually snapping.  I am not so sure the ground plan kit made any difference if honest although I see the firestick replacement for the Antron top sections and must admit I am seriously tempted to give it a go.
When I had my last station up and running they weren't so understanding about SSB so we tried to maximise efficiency in every aspect as opposed to using large amounts of power to get our signals out there.
I am curious has anybody else tried the ground plane kit(Antron) and felt it made little difference if any?

Congratulations on your impressive erection Laughing In these times of low skip, height is certainly might. I think you may become a bit obsessed with the weather forecast as there is going to be a lot of force exerted on those T & K brackets when the wind gets up. Until last year I had the tip of my Mk.1 Avanti Sigma IV up at 90ft. It took all that was thrown at it, especially considering I live in a very exposed area but it did cause me to lose a lot of sleep when it was blowing a hooley outside. In the end I swapped it over to an Imax 2000 which I've seen bend 90 degrees with no ill effect. Very much a fit and forget antenna, all for the loss of about half an S-point on the meter.
